Adventurous Albert
Brother to Scrumpy and Harmony, Albert is a domestic longhair cat discovered with his siblings in a relative’s backyard. They were born around March 2023 to a stray, protective mother and an unknown father. Their mother had a fully gray coat that he inherited. Initially, we thought Albert was a female kitten since it was hard to tell what his gender was when he was younger (even for the vets)! However, when he first came home, we remarked on how static his hair was and how it resembled Albert Einstein's. We first decided to name him Melody to match his sister Harmony, but went with his current name after confirming that he was a male kitten.
When he first arrived home, his situation was not so perfect. While it was hard to see at first glance, he was covered with fleas and had stomach worms – a bad state for kittens so young. If we had not gotten to them earlier, it’s possible that they could have contracted a life-threatening disease. Getting the fleas out was a rigorous process that required intensive care of applying medicine and washing the kitten thoroughly. After getting dewormed and treated for fleas, they were in a greater condition physically and personality-wise. This scenario serves to show how important it is to examine and take care of outdoor animals properly.
Out of his siblings, Albert is the most welcoming, as he will curiously approach other friendly strangers without hesitation! He loves making new friendly companions. He spends all of his energy playing and running around with the other cats, but he will never leave your side. Albert will treat his friends the best, by grooming their fur and snuggling with them. However, it is possible that he will use your laptop’s keyboard as his personal bed.
